The latest version of OAK, version 5.6.010, released on the 25th of July 2023, is a minor update to version 5.

This update brings several improvements on the security side as a result of a exaustive penetration test made on OAK. There are also improvements regarding the latest Microsoft updates to Windows/Office and the use of Microsoft’s WebView2 control.

There are plenty more improvements and fixes to OAK:

• Use of https protocol for news and updates
• Verifies digital signature of downloaded update file
• Added ability to disable web updates using an installer command line option
• Removed oakconfig.xml and store “web updates allowed” setting in registry
• Enhanced validation of digital certificate on update msi
• Updated WebView2 libraries
• Fixed scaling of splash screen
• Adjustments to auto-login/logout
• Fix for jumping left or up overshooting edges of sheet
• Added option to avoid using WebView2
