Operis aims to make this help a valuable resource for Excel users, whether or not they are users of OAK. It is accessible in three ways.
Local help When OAK is installed on your computer, local versions of the help are provided in files called OAK4_2k3.CHM and OAK4_2k7.CHM. When you ask OAK for help, using the OAK Development/Review | Help command, it knows which version of Excel it has been added into, and will automatically select the appropriate help file to display. Each page in the CHM version of the help has a link at the top "This page online". Assuming the internet is reachable from your location, this link will take you to the www.operisanalysiskit.com version of the page you are looking at. WEB-BaseD help Versions of OAK help are also available online at www.operisanalysiskit.com. You need to be connected to the internet to reach this version, but it may be more up to date than the one you have on your computer. The web-based help has no way of detecting which version of Excel you are using. At the top of each page there is a link 'This page in 2007' or 'This page in 2003' , which will take you to the equivalent page in the version of the help other than the one you are looking at. PRINTED MANUALS The PDF versions of the OAK help are called OAK4_2k3.pdf and OAK4_2k7.pdf. You are free to print out the version that matches the version of Excel that you are using. Handy if you want to occupy your travel time by reading it from cover to cover on the train. |
